Woman Abandons New Born In An Airplane Toilet Bin After Delivering Him While Aboard

A 20-year old woman is in police custody for allegedly giving birth and abandoning her baby inside a toilet bin of an airplane.

Initially, the woman who is from Madagascar denied being the mother of the newborn, but she was placed under arrest.

According to BBC, the suspect had boarded the flight from her home country to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius on January 1.

The baby was discovered inside the rubbish bin when the airport officials carried out a routine customs check of the cabin.

The young one was rushed to a hospital for immediate medical attention and the woman was ordered to undergo a medical examination to determine whether she had delivered recently.

Mauritius police were stationed at the hospital to watch over the woman. According to authorities, she is in a good condition as well as the baby.

The suspect, who had gone to Mauritius on a two-year work permit, will be questioned and charged with abandoning a newborn after being discharged from the hospital.

In a separate incident, a premature baby who was born at home was discovered to be alive as it was being prepared for burial at a funeral home.

The funeral director in the municipality of Ariquemes in Rondonia, Brazil, discovered that the infant’s heart was beating while its body was being prepared.

The 18-year-old mother, who has not been named, asked for medical help on Monday, December 27.

Local media reports the mother was unaware of the pregnancy and went to hospital twice after feeling severe pain.
