Tusker FC Pitch Camp At The Coast ahead of Match With Djibouti’s Arta Solar 7 .

Date:

Tusker Football Club is in Mombasa for the whole of this week to train for the match against Djibouti’s Arta Solar 7 for the African Champions League.

During Tuesday’s training, Tusker focused on building the team’s synergy with new players joining the team.

According to the Tusker’s CEO, the team settled on the coastal city because of its great weather.

“We chose Mombasa because it has ideal weather close to what we expect in Djibouti. Camping here will give us a good opportunity to get used to such kind of weather and give us an easier time when we play in the first leg,” said CEO Charles Obiny.

On his side, Head coach Robert Matano said that they needed a place with minimal distraction hence there decision to choose Mombasa.

“We needed a place where we could settle down, focus and concentrate with minimal distraction and this camp provides us with such kind of an atmosphere. We look forward to work well with everybody for the next one week,” Matano said.

The acting captain Humphrey Mieno said that the players are looking forward for the week’s training that will prepare them for tough matches ahead.

“As players we really look forward to this one week to work together and build that team spirit ahead of the season. We have very tough matches in the Champions League and the FKFPL and we need such kind of an atmosphere to build up towards the new campaign.”

Tusker will be facing Arta Solar 7 on September 11 at 2.00 pm.
