Mishra Kiprop Responds To Claims Of Withdrawing Students’ Scholarship After Losing His MP Seat

Date:

Immediate former Kesses MP Swarup Mishra Kiprop has denied claims of withdrawing scholarships for 300 students, who were members of his constituency, after failing to defend his seat in the August 9 general elections.

In a Facebook statement, Mishra noted that the reports were fake news adding that the programme is still on and will continue by God’s grace.

“Dear Kenyans, For the past one week, the social media has been awash with FAKE NEWS that I have withdrawn scholarship for 300 Students from Kesses Constituency. I urge you all to disregard the rumors, FAKE NEWS and sophisticated disinformation campaigns being peddled across-board. The program is still on course and by the Great Grace of God we shall continue absorbing and supporting more students,” Mishra said.

“I also take this opportunity to thank The Great People of Kesses for the opportunity, trust and endearing love they accorded me all along. Kongoi Missing. God Bless Kesses. God Bless Kenya,” he added.

Reports that Mishra had withdrawn the scholarships emerged on Thursday night and by Friday he was already trending with Kenyans giving their different views about the information. Further information emerged that he would also withdraw and take up items he had given to the community in his empowerment projects.

The former MP won Kesses parliamentary seat on an independent ticket in 2017. He had hoped to serve the people for another term only for him to be trounced by Julius Ruto, who vied on a UDA ticket.
