Jadon Sancho and Manchester United agree on £340,000 a week contract

Date:

Jadon Sancho has reportedly agreed on terms on a five-year deal worth £340,000-a-week with Manchester United, according to reports by Daily Mail.

The Borussia Dortmund star is on the verge of joining United with the two clubs in advanced talks over a deal that could reach an eventual £108million.

According to BILD Sancho has now put pen to paper on personal terms and all that needs to be determined before the deal can go through is the structure of the transfer.

Dortmund are refusing to budge from their £108m valuation of winger Sancho, which would see them make a staggering profit having signed him for just £8m from Manchester City in 2017.

The German side were hoping for at least half of that up front, with talks also focused on how the rest of the deal is structured, in terms of guaranteed money, add ons and instalment size and dates, beyond the initial fee.

Some reports have claimed that United would pay £63m up front and then £27m and £18m over the next two summers, but negotiations are still ongoing.

It is understood that Dortmund would accept an offer for Sancho which included payments in separate installments.

A fee of £108m would see him become the most expensive player bought by an English club, topping the £89m United paid to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus in 2016.

Dortmund head off to Switzerland for their pre-season training camp next Monday – August 10 – and would prefer the deal to be concluded before then.

However, missing that date is not considered a deal breaker and there remains optimism from all sides that a compromise will eventually be reached.

Sancho’s current Dortmund deal, which runs until 2022, is worth around £190,000 per week – meaning he would receive a £150,000-a-week pay rise to join United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Sancho his No 1 priority this summer and his signing would underline their ambition to close the gap on Liverpool and City.

Sancho, who will become the Premier League’s third-highest paid player if he joins United, has enjoyed another stellar campaign in Germany, recording 20 goals and 19 assists in all competitions.
