“I am Not Leaving!” Governor Wa Iria Helplessly Rants Outside Bomas As Chebukati Shows Him A Cold Shoulder(Video)

Date:

Murang’a governor Mwangi Wa Iria is protesting the move by IEBC to lock him out of the presidential elections.

Wa Iria, who was vying under Usawa Kwa wote party ticket, was supposed to meet with IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on Monday at 9.00am at Bomas of Kenya over the omission of his name from those who will be vying for presidency.

The governor said that he had submitted all the requirements only for his name to be struck off while some of those who failed to meet the requirements were on the list.

The presidential hopeful has however been denied access to Bomas. On Sunday, he camped  at the premises hoping to meet Chebukati.

He has  however insisted that he was not going to leave Bomas until Chebukati addresses him even if the military is brought in.

“I am not leaving this place, even if you bring Kenya navies, even if you tell Russia to bring those they took to Ukraine. Chebukati should come and address us here. There has to be a third liberation. People like using the police. We are here to replace Raila,” Wa Iria protested.

While addressing journalists, the governor claimed that he is being blocked from vying for presidency because his candidature may hurt some people.

“They have been told, any Kikuyu candidate who has the potential to be voted in must be locked out. First of all I don’t know why IEBC should lock me outside this place, everybody else including raia(common citizens) are getting in so what we are getting is that there are some indirect and direct positions which have been taken. They know my candidature is likely to hurt very many people and am likely to win,” he said.
