How Nominated Senator, Millicent Omanga Caused The Fierce Fight In The Senate

Date:

On Wednesday, two nominated senators; Beatrice Kwamboka and Mary Seneta found themselves in a physical fight at the Senate during an election of the officials of the Senate Health Committee.

The two Senators resorted to blows and kicks after Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina was elected at the House committee’s Vice-Chair, the same position Mary Senata was eyeing.

Mary’s supporters allegedly forged the signature of fellow nominated Senator, Millicent Omanga, who was absent in the house. It is alleged that Omanga voted for Senator Ledama instead of Senator Mary.

Kwamboka who supported Olekina for the seat was enraged by the alleged forgery of the signature, something that prompted her to go after Senator Mary. Senator Omanga is said to have earlier endorsed the candidature of Senator Ledama Ole Kina

“You cannot tell me anything! I am Raila Odinga’s staunch supporter. I will deal with you thoroughly,” said Kwamboka as she surged forward to grab Seneta by the neck.

The two senators who were engaging in the fight were separated by fellow honorable members after tiring each other’s clothes.

Despite the fight, Oledama was however declared the winner of the seat but couldn’t give his vote of thanks as the convention ended prematurely after the fight.
