DCI Deports Nigerian National After House Raid

Date:

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has deported a Nigerian national after raiding his house and seizing illegal drugs worth Ksh600,000.

In a statement, DCI noted that the foreign national identified as Stephen Chigozie Nwachukwu was deported last week after it was established that his visa had expired.

“The Directorate of Immigration services declared Chigozie persona non grata and deported him to Nigeria on Monday, March 18, 2024,” the statement read in part.

The Nigerian was arrested alongside his girlfriend Vivian Odoyo Akinyi. According to DCI, the couple operated in the Nairobi Kayole area.

“They had fled Nairobi to Kisumu upon hearing the DCI was on their trail. They were nabbed at Mountain View Estate within Obunga area of Kisumu County where they were hiding,” DCI noted.

Chigozie was found in possession of cocaine valued at approximately Ksh600,000 wrapped in sachets of one gram each. The drugs were hidden on the ceiling of the house.
