Rift Valley Governor Plots To Move From Ruto’s Camp

Is a Rift Valley governor planning to crossover fromĀ  Deputy President William Ruto’s camp? Well, he met a confidant of Baringo senator and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi at a hotel in Karen on Saturday.

While the details of the meeting were scanty, sources say they could have talked about Rift Valley politics.

Reports have it that Gideon Moi has rolled out activities aimed at poaching Ruto’s allies. The meeting at Karen is among many lined up be the Senator’s allies in the coming months in a move to whittle down Ruto’s stranglehold of the vote-rich Rift Valley.

This comes just after a month after Sonko News established that two Rift Valley Senators appeared to be double-dealing Deputy President William Ruto and the Kanu leader.

Sources claimed that in public the Senators are behaving as if they are die-hard supporters of Ruto but in private they are said to be working with Gideon Moi.

Same as William Ruto, Gideon Moi has also declared his interest to run for the presidential seat come 2022.

Earlier, two governors from the region almost came to blows after a strategic meeting they held turned chaotic following differences over the choice of presidential candidate for the 2022 polls.

The two disagreed on who to support between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
