Controversial Photo Of Raila Odinga That Has Left Netizens Raising Eyebrows

Date:

ODM leader Raila Odinga  has been moving around the country to popularize his presidential candidature ahead of the next general elections.

The former prime minister officially announced that he will be vying for presidency on December 10, 2021. He however threatened to back off from the elections if the people of his stronghold, Nyanza region, fail to register as voters in large numbers.

“Do you want me to quit the race? If you do not register in numbers, then I do not see the reason why I should contest. We have to take this matter seriously and register,” Raila said last week while on a tour in Homa Bay.

Raila will be vying for the country’s top seat under the Azimio la Umoja Movement that he said will be registered as a political outfit next week after President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the political parties amendment bill into law.

This week, Raila campaigned in Nakuru on Sunday January 23.  He then toured Murang’a county on Monday.

On Tuesday January 25, the ODM leader met with Mt. Kenya Foundation members as well as leaders of the Maa community at the Safari park hotel in Nairobi.

Lots of photos of the event were shared on social media however,  there is one particular photo that has caused reactions on social media especially on Twitter.

In the photo, Raila was posing with women who had donned the Maasai attire and the ODM leader was holding a fly whisk. The positioning of the whisk was what caused the discussion.
