Nicholas Gumbo Cries In The Bush After Orengo’s Supporter Takes Off With His Campaign Money

Date:

Former Rarieda member of parliament Nicholas Odero Gumbo found himself crying inside the bush after one of the supporters ran away with money as fast as his thin mosquito leg could carry him.

From a viral video clip, Nicholas Gumbo was quarreling with some of his supporters for “washing” and playing with him.

Interestingly, the supporters in the background were all saying that someone took off with the money he gave out without distributing it to the people.

“That man is not our supporter he has run with the money. I think he is one of Orengo’s supporters that was spying on us.” said one resident who was present during the fracas.

It appeared that Gumbo had gathered the supporters in the bush and all was well until he gave money to an identified youth who caused more confusion after literally running with the same inside the thicket.

As a result, the visibly annoyed former rarieda member of parliament urged the locals to give him one trusted person who would act as his eye and ear in the area without eating the money like the former ally who just took off.

Luckily, Mr. Gumbo who did not want anything to do with Orengo got one man by the name Kawere  to be in charge of his affairs in the Sega region.

“Dont play around with me! Don’t tell me anything about Orengo. I am repeating for the last time that you people should give me one person to run my affairs. I will not tolerate these con games again.” Said Gumbo inside the noisy bush.

The Siaya gubernatorial race has attracted a number of candidates including Siaya senator James Orengo, former Police spokesman Charles Owino and Nicholas Odero Gumbo. All the three are eyeing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.

In the meantime, Orengo has been at the center of attacks by the other aspirants while condemning him for lacking an agenda for the region.

At some point, Mr. Owino wondered why the Siaya senator spends huge sums of money hiring private helicopters every weekend which costs to the tune of 800,000 Kenya shillings in a single day. According to the former Police spokesman, the minority leader in the senate ought to be using that money to improve the lives of the locals who are suffering.

“Someone cannot be coming here in Ugenya every week in an expensive helicopter. Hiring a helicopter from Nairobi to this place is 800,000 Kenya shillings to and fro. If you spend a night with it, you pay up to one million Kenya shillings. How can someone we have given power to serve us be pursuing young slayqueens with neat suits and expensive alcohols in a private helicopter yet our kids are not going to school?” Posed Mr. Owino.

With regards to education, the Siaya gubernatorial aspirant said that his level of education is way much above that of Mr. Orengo and even challenged him to come forward and prove him wrong.

“Even if you consider the standard of education, mine is higher than that of James Orengo and let him provide evidence that he is more learned than me. So let no one come here and lie to you.” He added.

On his side, the incumbent Siaya governor Mr. Cornel Amoth Rasanga last year in a radio show made it clear that he would only throw his weight behind a candidate that has not been plotting his downfall during his two terms in office. Mr. Rasanga expressed his dissatisfaction with certain leaders in Siaya without necessarily mentioning names.
