Moses Kuria Is Back On His Feet Weeks After Being Hospitalized

Date:

Gatundu South Member Moses Kuria of parliament is back on his feet several weeks after sustaining serious burns on his feet.

In a video shared on social media platforms, Kuria is seen walking unaided in company of guests who had paid him a visit at the hospital.

The MP revealed that that was the first time he was walking unaided since the incident. He has previously been using crutches.

Kuria however needs to first put on a special pair of shoes since his feet are still in bandages.

“I’m glad I have these shoes now and this is the first time I’ve actually been able to be totally on my own feet and walk unassisted in one month. It’s a big deal for me to be walking, I don’t take it lightly. I thank God and the many prayers Kenyans have been making for me. God-willing I’ll soon be able to join my favourite team, Gor Mahia, for a friendly game,” Kuria stated.

He was also in company of one of his doctors whom he compared to the late televangelist Reinhard Bonnke saying that God had used him to foster his recovery.

Kuria was admitted at the Karen Hospital after suffering third degree burns. He burnt his feet after using an electric leg warming blanket.

“I am in hospital because I was involved in a minor incident in which I burnt my legs. I was first told that you connect it to the power, which I did. I connected it to power and stepped on it. At night, my legs ruptured and I had to be rushed to hospital the following day,” Kuria said in an interview.

So far, the lawmaker has undergone three surgeries to treat his burn since his admission in late September.
