The Ministry of health this evening announced 1,109 cases of corona from a sample of 7,153 tested pushing the total caseload to 60,704.
So far, Kenya has tested 730,363 samples since the pandemic hit the country in March 2019. Of the 1,109 cases tested, 69 were foreigners while 1,073 were Kenyans. In terms of gender, 410 were females while 699 were males.
This latest figure brings the total number of admitted patients across the country to 1,300 with 5,439 being on homecare programs. Out of that number, Nairobi leads with 347, Mombasa at 198, Meru at 63, Kiambu at 40, Kisumu at 36, Kilifi at 28, Kakamega at 25, Trans nzoia 23, Kajiado 20, Turkana 20, Machakos 17, Busia 15, Laikipia 14, Bungoma 12, Garissa 15, Kisii 11, Siaya 10. Kitui 7, Kwale 7, Nandi 6 amongst others.
The recovery number now stands at 40,131 in the wake of 938 recovering from the latest figures released. However, 21 people passed on in the last 24 hours bringing total deaths to 1,093.
