“Starting 14th February 2024, fly non-stop to Mogadishu from Nairobi 3x weekly on Kenya Airways every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Enjoy our special fares, starting from USD 1050,” Kenya Airways announced.

The flights to Mogadishu were halted by the national carrier to curb spread of COVID-19.

This affected both passenger and cargo moving from Nairobi to Mogadishu.

The route was essential as it helped connect the East African community.

Nonetheless, the resumption is expected to bolster aviation economy between Kenya and Somalia.

The national carrier has been keen to expand its business by renewing treaties and resuming flights in various parts.

It recently renewed flights to Bangkok, Togo and increased trips to London.

Direct flights to New York have also been prioritized by Kenya Airways in a bid to increase its revenue.
