Kenya Airways Resumes Flights to Bangkok After 3 Years Suspension

Passengers can now fly from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Bangkok, Thailand following the lifting of the suspension by Kenya Airways.

The national carrier announced that the flights will operate on the route five times a week. 

The route which was launched in 2003 was suspended in 2020 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The changes will expand the national carrier’s current network to 42 destinations.

“Bangkok, we are back! We have resumed flights to Bangkok starting 21 November 2023 operating the route five times per week. The route was launched in 2003 and suspended in 2020 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

“The resumption of flights to Bangkok will expand our current network to 42 destinations, offering travellers into and out of Africa, convenient connections via Nairobi to the popular Thai destination,” Kenya Airways announced.

Kenya Airways also noted that the flights between Nairobi and Bangkok will be operated with the modern Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

The national carrier’s Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu welcomed the move noting that it marks a moment of pride and readiness.

Thairu stated that the resumption of the flights underscored KQ’s proactive approach to expanding international routes.

This initiative underscores our proactive approach in expanding international routes, urging our passengers to embrace new and enriching travel experiences.
