A Chuka Magistrate has given James Kifo Muriuki, who beat his wife in May 2020, a 50-year prison term.
Muriuki was held responsible for hitting and seriously hurting his wife, as well as gluing her sex organs with super glue.
James Kifo Muriuki was found guilty of sexually abusing his wife and causing great bodily harm to her on Saturday, December 23, according to Principal Magistrate Njoki Kahara of the Chuka Law Courts.
Muriuki was said to have confronted his wife when he returned to Tharaka Nithi after spending some time working in Nairobi.
He had told her to get down to her underwear and list every man she had slept with while he was away.
After beating her, he used a knife to force a concoction of salt, pepper, and super glue into her genitalia.
In June 2020, he had made a not guilty plea to allegations of sexual assault attempted murder, performing an unnatural offense, and acting immodestly against his wife.
He reportedly closed her mouth and ears before leaving her for dead.
A few days later, Muriuki was apprehended for the offense and was being detained on remand at Embu GK Prison while he awaited trial.
