Hey Baba, Karibu Sana! Raila Odinga Receives ‘State Treatment’ After Landing In India(Video)

Date:

For almost a week now, ODM leader Raila Odinga has been out of the country for trips to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and India.

The former Prime Minister was in Ethiopia for the 35th Summit of the  Africa African Union that was held on February 5 and 6 before heading to India.

The information was shared by his spokesperson, Dennis Onyango who did not provide details of Raila’s trip to India.

Raila landed in the Asian country on Wednesday whereby he received a very warm welcome after disembarking from a chopper.

A video shared on social media shows a number of Indian officials welcoming the ODM leader and those who had accompanied him in Koothattukulam and he is even handed a bouquet of flowers after which they pose for a photo.

“Hey Baba.Mimi msichana wake,Habari ya kazi,” one of the Indian officials could be heard saying. Raila then heads to the waiting by motorcade as he waves at onlookers.

It has however emerged that the ODM leader is in India for the treatment of his daughter, Rosemary, who has an eye sight problem

Rosemary almost fully lost her eyesight in 2017 after suffering a minor stroke. She regained her eyesight two years later and the family has sought treatment in South Africa, Israel and China. Eventually, the right treatment for her was found at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research centre in Koothattukulam.

According to the chief physician at the hospital, Narayanan Namboothiri, Raila would be at the hospital for a number of days as his daughter undergoes eye care procedures and treatment.
