Fresh Details About Kiambaa Church Emerge A Few Days To Elections

Date:

With less than a week to the general elections, the issue of Kiambaa church has emerged and Kenyans can’t just stop discussing it on all platforms.

Speaking on Wednesday, a presiding pastor Paul Karanja at Kiambaa church in Uasin Gishu gave a blow by blow account of how the facility was forced to change its name in the wake of the 2007/2008 post election violence.

According to the pastor, the church was abandoned since no one was willing to visit or associate with it following what happened during the skirmishes.

Left with no option, the ghost in the name “Kiambaa Church” had to be driven away by the admin when they decided to rename it “Kenya Assemblies of God Faith Church.” The preacher further revealed that the church was initially called Kenya Assemblies of God Pentecostal but the word Faith replaced Pentecostal.

Asked the main reason why the name was changed, Karanja said that it was meant to do away with negative memories of the 2007 and 2008 post election violence.

“When I came here in 2012. Everything was extremely complicated. People did not want to be associated with it. Then the Holy Spirit instructed me to change the name to give it a new breath,” He narrated, asking well wishers to chip into the construction of the church which is already underway.

“With God’s grace, the rebuilding of the Church began last month and construction is currently underway. The committee in charge of the project is asking well-wishers to support the construction by making contributions to the KAG Kiambaa project,” He continued.

The Kiambaa church saw women and children get burned inside the church and it has been a big issue in the Kenyan political circle with accusations running left right and center.
