The Ministry of Health on Wednesday announced a new record of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Health Cabinet Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced a total of 307 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24-hours from a total sample of 3591.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is now at 6673 while a total of 173,355 samples have so far been tested since March.
From the total cases recorded on Wednesday, 216 are males while 92 are females.
The youngest of those who tested positive of the virus is one year while the oldest is 81 years old.
The distribution of the Covid-19 cases within the counties are as follows;
- Nairobi – 154
- Mombasa – 38
- Machakos – 32
- Kajiado – 14
- Kiambu – 20
- Narok – 20
- Busia – 10
- Uasin Gichu – 1
- Kitui – 1
- Kericho – 4
- Makueni – 5
- Nakuru – 5
- Kilifi – 1
- Kisumu – 1
The country has also recorded 50 more recoveries and was discharged from the hospital raising the total number of recoveries to 2089.
On the sad note, Dr. Aman also reported one more fatality from COVID-19 raising the total number of deaths to 149.
Mr. Aman cautioned the public against taking the pandemic lightly and called on everyone to adhere to the containment measures placed by the ministry of health such as wearing masks, keeping social distance, and washing hands.

Aman added that even though Kenyans are focusing on reopening of the economy it is important for them to keep in mind that cases are increasing every day and should follow the government guidelines which are meant to curb the spread of the virus.
