William Ruto’s Hands Chopped Off By Unknown People At The Jubilee Headquarters

Date:

Deputy president William Ruto’s hands were on Friday morning chopped off by unknown people at the Pangani based Jubilee headquarters.

A day earlier, there were symbols of the Jubilee party logo at the headquarter where deputy president and his boss president Uhuru were holding hands

However, Kenyans on Friday woke up to the news of the disappearance of William Ruto’s symbolic hands at the Jubilee headquarters.

In May 2020, the Jubilee party of Kenya did away with William Ruto’s hand from its logo, marking the final nail on the coffin for the marriage between the head of state and his deputy.

In an event supervised by Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju and witnessed by seven senators, the party said that there were too many hands involved in the running of the country, making Kenya very ungovernable.

As a result, they made it clear that they were minimizing hands on the logo in a bid to only remain with one as the symbol.

“We are streamlining the structures that are involved in the running of this country. This has nothing to do with William Ruto or any division in the party. Jubilee is strong enough and is the epitome of unity and tolerance in this nation.” said Hon Tuju.

However, the decision to chop off Ruto’s hands attracted mixed reactions from various quarters with some criticizing it while others supporting the same.

One Elgeyo marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen even argued that chopping off Ruto’s hands from the party logo made it look not only bad but also very unbalanced.

“The removal of Ruto’s hand makes the whole logo very unbalanced, it might flip over. If that logo falls, Kenya falls!” said Kipchumba Murkomen. Besides, the Jubilee party also did away with their tuko Pamjoa slogan.

All that time the symbols of the two leaders holding hands were still at their Pangani based office but all came to an end on Friday when they officially chopped off Ruto’s hands from the building, a clear indication that he was a persona non grata.

This “chopping off” came the same day the Jubilee Party of President Uhuru Kenyatta is holding its two-day National Delegates Conference at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) from today 25th February all the way to 26th.

According to the party secretary general Mr. Raphael Tuju, the agenda of the NDC includes a review of the Party’s policies as well as an amendment and/or ratifying proposed changes to the Jubilee Party constitution to comply with current electoral laws.

The party is also set to approve the proposed new seal, symbol, and flag of the Party.

On his side, Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe had earlier announced last week they will have a twin NDC alongside ODM that will culminate in announcing Raila at Nyayo National Stadium as the joint presidential candidate as reported by the Star.

Coincidentally, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is also having its National Delegates Convention today the same as Jubilee.

ODM secretary general Mr. Edwin Sifuna had released a notice stating that the meeting would be held at the Busy Nyayo National stadium.

“Please take notice, pursuant to article 7.2 as reading together with article 7.5.3 of the Orange Democratic movement constitution, that the National delegates convention shall be held on the 25th and 26th February 2022 at the National Stadium from 9:00 Am,” read the Notice by Sifuna .
