“Umelala Na Bibi Yangu Sana”- Words By Kosewe Which Made Mboya Almost Kill Him

Date:

Umelala na bibi yangu sana leo nimekupata (you have slept with my wife many times, but I’ve caught you this time) are the words that made Tom Mboya Oywa almost kill the Ranalo foods restaurant owner William Kosewe.

Apparently, the owner of Ranalo and Tom Oywa were involved in a serious melee after they fought over the former’s wife with Osewe accusing Oywa of  continuously eating his wife.

However, Mr. Mboya Oywa vehemently denied in court sleeping with Kosewe’s wife since he was a married man.

“I told him I didn’t know his wife and I cannot date her because I’m a married man. I even told my boss about the threats Osewe made to me,” the court heard.

So serious were the altercations that Oywa, a licensed firearm holder, attempted to kill the prominent hotelier when he opened fire on him at a restaurant on Thika Road in Nairobi, leaving him with serious injuries.

Fast-forward in 2019, Tom Mboya Oywa was put on his defense before the court where he told the presiding magistrate that  Kosewe Ranalo had threatened to chop off his manhood and kill him if he didn’t stop sleeping with his wife.

Mboya even stated that he shot Mr. Osewe in self defence, adding that he aimed his gun at Kosewe Ranalo’s hands since he wanted to disarm him.

“The complainant, in this case, had previously said that I had slept with his wife and he was going to cut my manhood if I don’t stop. He cocked his gun twice but could not shoot and my aim was to shoot his hands,” Mboya told the court.

As a result, the dramatic moments saw the purported wife snatcher shoot William Kosewe Ranalo in the stomach and on the neck at close range, hence being rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention.

According to the CT Scan, Mr. Kosewe had a 9mm caliber bullet lodged in his lower abdomen and was admitted at the Aga Khan hospital awaiting operation.

Sources privy to the events narrated to Sonko News that Tom Mboya Oywa was even more shocked after he learnt that Mr. Kosewe Ranalo never succumbed to the 2.30pm incident along the Thika Super Highway.

According to some eyewitnesses as reported by the Nairobinews, the two were seen walking away from the hotel as they argued. Moments later, Mr Mboya was seen walking back to the parking after three gunshots were heard.

Meanwhile, Mr Kosewe Ranalo, as added by a local publication, fell down in the middle of the road, writhing in pain. He called one of the people around and requested him to bring his car so that he could be rushed to the hospital.

Strangely, the young unfaithful wife the two businessmen were fighting over was out of the country and was expected back anytime from then.

The man accused of shooting Mr. Kosewe has since been sentenced to 23 years in jail after the court found him guilty of trying to murdered and injure the Tom Mboya street based businessman.
