A military officer is in custody after attacking a boda boda rider who took his 21-year old daughter home on Thursday evening.

According to a reportĀ  by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the officer, who was identified as a military doctor, first gave his daughter a beating before going after the boda boda rider.

The innocent boda boda rider namely Wycliffe Atendo, is an online boda boda operator based in Nairobi. He received a requestĀ  from a client(the military doctor’s daughter) who wanted to be dropped at White estate in Syokimau.

“Atendo picked the client, a 21-year-old lady, outside a pharmacy along Kimathi street and set off for the 20-kilometer journey,” DCI report read.

Once they had arrived at the destination, the boda boda rider was waited to receive his dues when the military man emerged

“The duo arrived at the agreed address and as the woman was about to pay him, a man quickly emerged from the gate and gave her a beating like a rented mule, before showing her into the compound. As the nduthi man pondered his next move, the enraged man whipped out a firearm and fired at him instead, making him flee the scene for dear life,” the report further read.

Atendo however proceeded to Syokimau police station where he reported the matter and detectives responded swiftly

“They established that the man was a military doctor who was armed with a glock pistol and 42 rounds of 9mm caliber. The man was arrested and handed over to military police for further action, in accordance with military discipline,” DCI said.
