List Of Things That Ruto Swore To As He Assumed Responsibilities Of The President

William Samoei Ruto is now the fifth president of Kenya after being sworn in on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at Kasarani stadium.

Ruto assumed the responsibilities of the president after taking two oaths. The first oath is of allegiance to the office of the president whereby he swore to protect the constitution of Kenya.

“I, William Samoei Ruto, in full realization of the high calling I assume as President of the Republic of Kenya, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the  Republic of Kenya;

“That I will obey, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of Kenya as by law established and all other laws of the Republic; and that I will protect and uphold the sovereignty, integrity and dignity of the people of Kenya. So help me God,” Ruto said.

Upon completion, he also took an oath of due execution of the functions of the office of the president.

“I William Samoei Ruto, swear that I will truly and diligently serve the people and the Republic of Kenya in the office of president of the Republic of Kenya that I will diligently discharge my duties and perform my function in the office of the president of the republic of Kenya and I will I will do justice to all in accordance with this constitution as by law established and the laws of Kenya without fear, favor, affection, or ill will, so help me God,” Ruto said.

After the oath, Ruto proceeded with the signing of the oaths as well as the certificate of the inauguration.
