Leonard Mambo Mbotela Seeks For Help To Clear 1.1Million Medical Bill

Popular TV and radio presenter Leonard Mambo Mbotela is seeking for help in a bid to clear the 1.1 million hospital bill.

Mbotela is currently receiving medical attention at The Nairobi South Hospital where he was admitted since October 29, 2020. This was confirmed in a letter from the hospital’s human resource manager Mr. Stephen Mutavi. “He is due for discharge Friday November 13,2020 as per the doctor’s recommendations to continue with homecare treatment.” He said.

According to the hospital management, the accumulated medical bill stands at 1,105,498 Kenya shillings as of today. Mbotela is now urging Kenyans of goodwill to help him offset that bill so that he is discharged from the facility.

Cases of celebrities being unable to pay medical bills has been rampant in Kenya with others having to do a fundraising. Just recently, a popular comedian by the name Othuol Othuol sought help from Kenyans to enable him pay his hospital bill. The late comedian had been ailing for quite a while before he was admitted at The Kenyatta National Hospital.

Besides being a journalist, Mbotela runs several entertainment programs such as “Jee Huu Ni Ungwana” in KBC Channel. Politically, Mbotela is one of those journalists who were loyal to President Moi during the 1982 coup. He was captured by the coup organizers and forced to announce that the Moi government had been overthrown.
