Kamiti Call Center Reloaded: Netizen Cries Foul After Losing Thousands Of Savings To Safaricom Imposter.

Date:

A Netizen is crying foul after losing thousands of shillings to  an imposter who claimed to be from Safaricom Telecommunication company.

In a post shared by a popular site, the unidentified person lost a total of Ksh 124,000 that he had saved on his M-shwari account.

Apparently, he had saved the money so that he could start a business and now he will have to start from scratch again since he was left with nothing.

“Hello Nairobi Gossip, today I was in the house when I was called  by a certain number that looks like Safaricom’s. They have conned me 124k that I had saved to start a business,” he revealed.

According to his narration, the caller told him that he was from Safaricom and they wanted to lock his simcard while asking him to provide his details.

“He asked for my ID and I gave it out. He asked for my M-shwari balance, credit balance that I last saved, the number of lines I have, just the normal Safaricom questions, please reach many people so that they don’t get conned like me,” the victim said.

He also shared the number that had been used to con him while wondering what step he should take after being fooled to such an extent.

“Tell people to stay alert, I feel like crying or should I just bewitch the person, I don’t have an option,” the victim moaned.

This comes just days after Citizen TV aired a feature on how prisoners at Kamiti use phones to rob Kenyans money.

Former assistant minister Betty Tett’s foster son, William Tett was exposed as the expert in the business.

The prisoners have a special section where they conduct the business and some of them prefer to continue staying in prison because of the easy way of making money.

Safaricom however calls their customers with the number 0722000000.
