Jimi Wanjigi has finally come out to speak on his relationship with deputy president William Ruto after being suspected of being a mole in ODM.
Wanjigi’s presidential ambition in ODM has been treated with suspicion because of the way he has been criticizing the party leader Raila.
The billionaire has long been suspected to being Ruto’s mole in ODM who is meant to frustrate Raila’s quest to be the party’s flagbearer in 2022.
Speaking during rally at Kenyatta University on Tuesday November 2nd, Wanjigi confessed that Ruto and him are friends having worked together before.
Addressing youth drawn from various universities and colleges countrywide, the ODM presidential hopeful admitted that he enjoys a cordial relationship with Ruto but insisted that they don’t share common interest in as far as politics is concerned.
Wanjigi revealed that Ruto desperately tried to woo him into his political camp in vain. He stressed that he doesn’t subscribe to the DP’s wheelbarrownomics.
“And by the for this who don’t know, Deputy President ni rafiki wangu wa karibu sana. Tumefanya kazi na yeye kwa miaka mingi, lakini ako na shinda moja. Sijui kwa nini anafikiria mimi nakaa mtu wa wheelbarrow. Tuki meet nitamuuliza,” Jimi Wanjigi said.
The ODM presidential hopeful further took a dig at Ruto saying that he was taking the youth back to old age offering them wheelbarrows in this digital era.
He also criticized the DP saying he is the lord of corruption, Wanjigi mentioned how the construction cost of SGR was inflated to benefit a few.
The tycoon mentioned that he was the brainchild of SGR and that the initial cost was just Ksh55 billion, but Ruto and others inflated the cost of construction to channel billions into their own pockets.
