How Badi Muhsin Slept In The Afternoon After Lunch Never To Wake Up Again

Veteran Kenya Broadcasting Corporation(KBC) news presenter Badi Muhsin on Friday died mysteriously in Mombasa County where he had gone to conduct official duties.

According to his brother Hafidh Muhsin as reported by KBC, he took lunch together with Badi Muhsin on Friday afternoon before he retired to bed.

While on his bed, the brother revealed that the late never woke up, something which was unusual since he did not complain of any pain.

Apparently, he had travelled to Mombasa to interview Alice Tabu for Dira ya Magwiji, the Swahili news segment he hosts on weekends.

Hafidh added that they were in constant communication and he was to travel to Makindu on Saturday for some celebrations before returning to Nairobi.

KBC further reported that News of his demise has shaken his colleagues at the National Broadcaster with Managing Director Dr. Naim Bilal leading in comforting the family saying he has learnt with shock and disbelief.

His death comes in the wake of him making a comeback for his second stint at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation(KBC).

In the meantime, his death has left many people shocked with others celebrating him as one of the most competent journalists Kenya ever produced.

For instance, Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho had this to say about the late:

“Today’s Friday is shrouded in deep sadness as we mourn the passing on of our brother Badi Muhsin, OGW. The late Badi was indeed a national treasure and revered by many across the country for his exemplary standards of journalism and his charming personality. We pray to the Almighty Allah SWT with utmost and profound sincerity to accept all his good deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Amin. Inna Lillahi Waina Ileyhi Rajiu’un.”

“We are saddened by the loss of Badi Muhsin, an exceptional and professional journalist who mentored many upcoming newsmen. He was a gentleman, insightful and dedicated seeker of the truth. We will miss his humility, focus and masterly of Kiswahili. Our prayers and love to the family, friends and the journalism fraternity. Buriani Muhsin.” Wrote DP Ruto.

Badi Muhsin who has been survived by a wife and two children will be laid to rest at the Kariokor cemetery on Saturday according to the Muslim faith.
