Amani National Congress (ANC) is not shaken after being dumped by LSK president Nelson Havi who was welcomed to UDA.
Havi officially joined UDA on Monday, November 22 and was welcomed by Deputy President William Ruto among other members.
Speaking in an interview with K24, Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula said that Havi’s defection is a non issue.
He noted that the LSK boss was barely two months old in the Musalia Mudavadi led party before defecting to UDA.
“He has no value to us. So we remain strong, he wanted to contest in Westlands, and we must tell him that we have stronger candidates there than him,” Savula said.
According to the lawmaker, ANC is only worried about the huge number of Mt. Kenya MPs defecting to the Ruto led party.
“They are moving like locusts and that worried us a lot. But, I must say that ANC is very stable; we have not lost even a single MP. We lost Eliud Owalo; he was not an MP; he was an activist who even lost the Kibra Parliamentary seat,” Savula explained.
He further said that the party is strong even after it lost Barrack Muluka and Havi, and that they have brought Martha Karua to party through One Kenya Alliance
“Muluka has never won even an MCA position. So, in Havi, we have lost a legal activist, and we are not bothered. We are strong and focused, and the game is advanced; we brought in Martha Karua through the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and this is the only beginning,” explained Savula.
Martha Karua together with the speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi met with OKA leaders on Tuesday.
“We’ve come as a group of Mt Kenya politicians to see how we can work with OKA,” Karua told the press.
