In the current changes in leadership positions in the parliament for Ruto allay Cate Waruguru was elected to a lucrative Parliament position.
The Laikipia Woman Rep was elected as the vice-chairperson of the Agriculture Committee.
Cate Waruguru replaces Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe who was elevated to the House leadership.
From the changes, Wangwe will be now the new Chief Whip in the National Assembly.
Cate will, however, deputize Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren who was elected as the new Agriculture Committee chairman.
Tiren is taking over from Mandera South Lawmaker Adan Ali.
Adan Ali is among Ruto’s allies who were axed from house committee leadership last month by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The new Agriculture Committee chair was elected unopposed. Tiren reclaimed his position which he previously held before 2018 when Jubilee favored Ali.
Tiren was elected as the Agriculture Committee Chairman back in 2017, trouncing Ali, who was Jubilee’s preferred candidate for the position.
Tiren was ousted to create for the party’s candidate.
