Ford Kenya Officials Demand Kabuchai MP To Take His Leave After Betraying Them

Date:

Ford Kenya officials have been angered by Kabuchai’s Member of Parliament decision to support Deputy President William Ruto.

Party branch secretary Cephers Wachana and Chwele MCA who is also the Kabuchai Sub branch leader Barasa Mukhongo have accused Majimbo Kalasinga of betraying his party as well as the people who voted for him.

They now want Majimbo Kalasinga to leave Ford Kenya and join UDA after attending DP Ruto’s meet the people tour on Friday.

The officials insisted that Ford Kenya is under one Kenya alliance while questioning Kalasinga’s move to join their political opponent.

“You can’t support our opponent and still be in the party,” Wachana said.

Speaking during the DP Ruto’s tour Kalasinga said that they were ready to work with DP Ruto.

“You are my friend. During the recent by-election, you helped me though you had a UDA candidate. I will not forsake you,” Kalasinga said while noting that he has respect for Wetang’ula.

“When you see me here this evening, know that I support Ruto,” Kalasinga went on.

However Ford Kenya leaders have denied claims of working with Ruto saying they have never supported the hustler movement.

Mukhongo on his side asked the MP to think about how Ford Kenya helped him to win the Kabuchai Parliamentary seat.

“He has been losing all these times because he belonged to different parties, but when he joined Ford-Kenya he won easily. He should ask himself why,” Mukhongo said.

Kalasinga was elected on March 4 by-election and succeeded John Mukwee who died in December last year.

Majimbo won the hotly contested seat trouncing his seven opponents. He won by 19,274 votes which represented 65% of the votes. UDA’s Evans Kakai came second after garnering 6,455 votes representing 22 per cent of the votes cast.
