Date:

Mvita member of parliament Abdullswamad Nassir lost four of his staff on Saturday in a grisly road accident that occurred in Lamu’s Mpeketoni area.

It has now emerged that the car rolled several times after it violently hit an electric pole. Apparently, the rolling was caused by a tire burst which occurred as the four went on with their journey.

As a result, one of the staff of Abdullswamad Nassir died on the spot as the other three passed on shortly after arriving at the Mpeketoni hospital.

According to a local publication, the four employees of Mvita constituency were attending a number of political rallies and gatherings. Their death was confirmed by Abdullswamad Nassir who stated that they were on official duties when the unfortunate incident occurred.

“Yes, they were all my employees. They died after the tyres of the car they were traveling in burst and rolled,“wrote Abdullswamad Nassir.

While mourning the four, Mombasa governor Alli Hassan Joho described the same as a devastating loss not only to their families but also to the Mvita constituency.
