Eric Omondi Sets Conditions That Event Promoters And Organizers Should Meet In 2022

Comedian Eric Omondi is not giving Kenyan artists, event promoters and organizers a break just yet.

Through a social media post, the comedian said that this year, he is going to scrutinize every event in detail to know how much artists will be paid.

He also set conditions that promoters and organizers should meet before the event takes place.

Eric said that he will ensure all artists get paid 70% of their money before the event and the remaining 30%  on the day of the event but before they perform.

“Please be NOTIFIED that this YEAR I will PERSONALLY SCRUTINIZE every detail of Every EVENT!!! I want to know how much ARTISTS are paid. I want to ensure that Every ARTIST is paid 70 PERCENT of their money PRIOR and 30 PERCENT on the day of the Event before the EVENT,” Eric said.

He went ahead to categorize artists in a list saying that list A artists should not be paid anything less than Kshs600,000 while list B artist should not be paid below Kshs450,000.

“Every A LIST Artist must be paid not less than Ksh 600,000. By A LIST I mean the following: NADIA MUKAMI – KSH 600,000, KHALIGRAPH JONES 1.5 MILLION, OTILE BROWN – KSH 1.5 MILLION, NYASHINSKI – KSH 1.5 MILLION SAUTI SOL – KSH 2.8 MILLION. All the B LIST Artists must be paid not less than KSH 450,000. i.e Ethic, Trio Mio etc,” Eric stated.

Aside from that, he said that all events must be headlined by Kenyan artist no matter who would be performing and that the artists’ security must be guaranteed.

“All EVENTS MUST BE HEADLINED BY A KENYAN ARTIST Whether BEYONCE is performing or not!!! SECURITY MUST Be PROVIDED for all ARTISTS. A World CLASS BACKSTAGE FOR All ARTISTS is NON NEGOTIABLE,” he further said.
