Edgar Obare has been arraigned in Court at Kiambu Law Courts after he was arrested in Kisumu last week.
The controversial blogger, YouTuber, and the king of “tea” on social media was charged with disclosing of personal data in the case where the complainant is Natalie Wanjiru known everywhere else as Natalie Tewa. Edgar Obare shared Natalie Tewa’s passport and her itinerary on social media that placed her in Dubai at the same time Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, and Junet Mohammed were there as well.
On August 3, Edgar Obare pleaded not guilty to the offense and he court had been adjourned pending a bail hearing later on today at 2 pm.
Obare was arrested by 10 police officers in Kisumu and his laptop and phone confiscated at brought back to Nairobi.

He was taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for questioning and was later on held at Gigiri police station since last week. Allegedly nobody was allowed to visit him where he was being held at.
This came after he had taken to his Instagram stories with a string of posts alleging that a Kenyan female YouTuber was part of the entourage that visited ODM leader Raila Odinga in Dubai.
