DP Ruto’s Biggest Opposers React To His ‘Witch-Hunting’ Plan That Will See President Kenyatta Get Prosecuted

Date:

It has emerged that DP William Ruto has plans to make President Uhuru Kenyatta’s retirement a living hell once he wins in the August 9 general elections.

According to reports from local publications, the second in command intends to form 8 tribunals, task forces and review panels that will probe the head of state after he leaves office.

DP Ruto intends to go after his boss to investigate his actions that have caused state capture. The team will also investigate violations of human rights during President Kenyatta’s tenure and it will seek to reverse his policies.

“Within 30 days, a quasi-judicial public inquiry to establish the extent of cronyism and state capture in the nation and make recommendations,” part of the DP’s manifesto read.

That has however irked his competitors from the Azimio side who have criticized DP Ruto over his witch hunting plans referring to them as a very bad policy.

“It’s BAD public policy in democracies for presidential candidates to pledge to investigate, prosecute — and jail — predecessors. It’s especially BAD policy in Africa where democratic institutions are extremely FRAGILE. It’s a recipe for CHAOS/existential threat to the state,” Raila Odinga campaign secretariat spokesperson  Prof. Makau Mutua said.

On the other hand, Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni said that the plan seeks overthrow the current constitution.

“This is already a clear indication of how dangerous a Ruto government could be for this country. They are on a vindictive agenda. Since they have been talking about witch-hunt that is now a clear case of witch-hunt that has been provided for in the manifesto,”Kioni said.
