“Don’t Go Home With Pain” Oscar Sudi Appeals To President Kenyatta After His Bitter Rant On Labor Day

Date:

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has defended DP William Ruto against president Uhuru Kenyatta’s accusations during labor day celebrations.

The event was organized at Nyayo stadium on May 1 whereby president Kenyatta took a swipe against DP Ruto for not helping him in running the government but is quick to criticize his leadership.

“Instead of offering advice on how to improve on my shortcomings as a leader, you are in the markets insulting me. Help me reduce the problem, as opposed to pointing an accusing finger.

“Let us tell the truth. Where are you when I need you? I thank the old man [Raila Odinga] because, despite the political differences we had before, he came through and agreed to work together. He helped me work in peace,” President Kenyatta said in his speech.

He further blamed the UKraine and Russia war as well as Covid-19 pandemic for the high cost of living that Kenyans have been complaining about.

Responding to the head of state, Sudi however said that DP Ruto and his allies worked with president Kenyatta very well during their first term in office. It however reached a point when president Kenyatta decided to sideline them.

“Don’t say that you have not been helped with work. From 2013-2017 we worked well because you would call us and consult with us. You worked with your deputy. He would bring his expertise and you would bring yours. Things were okay,” Sudi said.

The lawmaker further said that the country’s economy was ruined before the pandemic and war while citing some of the reasons that might have led to that.

“But you chased us away my brother and now you are putting the blame on the war in Ukraine between Ukraine and Russia. The economy got ruined [long ago] . The Ukraine issue is a recent thing.

“My brother, your economy got ruined before Corona when you started taking people to DCI, chased away entrepreneurs, the likes of Keroche and everybody and even us. You called your deputy and told him that you want to work alone. Why are you lying to the people?” Sudi posed.

He went on to warn the president against going home with a heavy heart and  advised  him to make peace with them.

“Kenyans are not stupid, they understand where the problem is. Let me advice you in good faith, ask your people for forgiveness, call as and tell us that we should forgive each other we are humans, we will listen to you, we will salvage what we can, don’t go home with pain, it is dangerous to have money and everything but your heart is heavy. You refuse even God’s greetings and you still blame people,” Sudi said.
