Angry Bodaboda Riders Burn Reflectors And T-shirts Associated With Ruto After Attending His Meeting

Date:

Deputy president William Ruto attracted the ire of bodaboda operators who expressed their frustrations with him by burning reflectors and t-shirts associated him.

Ruto was in Kisii over the past weekend to drum up support for his 2022 presidential bid and all didn’t go well.

The DP’s trip to Kisii was marred with violence and chaos, residents shouted him down in many stopovers chanting Raila Odinga and ODM slogans.

Ruto is trying to muzzle Kisii region from the ODM leader who enjoys unparalleled support in the greater Nyanza region.

Bodaboda operators who had attended Ruto’s rally burnt reflectors and t-shirts associated with the DP after they were left stranded and without fare home.

The bodaboda riders were ferried to the meetings by South Mugirango MP Sylivanus Osoro who had promised them some cash which he failed to pay.

The riders were at Ruto and Osoro after they were left stranded at Nyakembene and Bogichoncho without fare back home.

It’s not the first time that people are being stranded after attending Ruto’s rallies. Weeks ago a similar case was reported in Makueni after Ruto’s visit in Ukambani.

Ruto on September 21st took his campaign trail to Makueni county where he drew large crowds during his tour.

However, the DP was accused of leaving hundreds of people stranded after they were paid to attend his rallies in Ukambani.

Kibwezi East MP Jessica Nduku Mbalu came out to blast Ruto accusing him of paying locals to attend his Ukambani rallies only to leave them stranded.

The MP revealed that hundreds of people were ferried from different places to attend Ruto’s rallies after they were promised to be paid Ksh1000.

Mbalu lamented that several people were stranded in Emali town after those who ferried them to the rallies abandoned them.
