Following his ouster from the Majority Leader seat, Garissa Member of parliament, Aden Duale is set to lose a lot of privileges that come with the position.
After being replaced by Kipipiri Member of Parliament as the Majority Leader on Monday during the Jubilee National Assembly Parliamentary Group meeting, Aden Duale will have to contend with reduced allowances and renunciations of other privileges.
By the virtue of the Majority Leader office, Duale was entitled to huge perks such as allowances, bodyguards, official vehicles, and a huge office with the support staff at the parliament building.
Enhanced security, as well as high-end vehicles that were fully serviced, maintained, and fueled by the taxpayers’ money, are also other privileges that were accorded to Duale. Duale is however expected to lose his office at the Parliament building, extra allowances, and staff given to him and fully paid by the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
The staff members that were awarded to Duale include a political analyst, legal officer, researcher, personal assistant, secretary, and office assistant.
The fourth most powerful office on land is also entitled to at least more than three top-range GK fuel guzzlers and three security officers but their number can increase if a request has been made by the officeholder.

Some officers are also stationed at his rural home as well as his Nairobi home while others serve as bodyguards accompanying him on his daily activities.
A driver is also assigned to the Majority Leader by the government as well as a chase car.
Now that Duale is out of office, SonkoNews learned that Duale will only remain with a maximum of two bodyguards. His lucrative car fuel card and an Sh300,000 monthly payment for hospitality will also be withdrawn.
Currently, the Majority leader pockets a monthly salary of Sh1,056,000 which includes Sh200,000 monthly allowance and responsibility allowance of about Sh138,000 per month which Duale will lose.
