15-year Old Arrested For Allegedly Murdering A 44-year Old Man

Date:

A 15-year old boy is being held at Singhor police station in Nandi for allegedly killing a 44-year old man following a conflict that ensued between them.

The suspect is said to have hit Jackson Liboyo Kadera with a stone on his forehead after he confronted him for trespassing on a farm that he was working as a caretaker.

The standard seven pupil passed through the farm on Monday evening on his way home from school.

According to the area assistant chief Philip Magut, Kadera warned the boy, who is a neighbor’s son, against passing through the tea and beans plantations.

The warning however did not go well will the suspect who resolved to engage in a fist fight with the deceased.

“The boy picked a stone from the farm periphery and hit Kadera on his forehead. He collapsed, but recovered after first aid was administered to him at the scene,” the administrator said.

The body of the deceased was later discovered lying in a pool of blood on Tuesday.

“He was lying in a pool of blood. It seems, even after the fight, the bleeding continued, and this could have led to his demise,” said Magut.

The police arrested the minor while at his school and took him to the station for interrogation.

Tindiret OCPD Abdulahi Jire said the boy is a key suspect in the death of the caretaker according to preliminary investigations.

“He will be presented to court once the police conclude the investigation,” Jire noted.

This comes barely days after a mathematics teacher from St. Johns Sikinwa in Trans Nzoia County was assaulted by three of his students who claimed that he was a nuisance to them.

Nicholas Bett says he fears for his life following the Saturday night incident that left him nursing head and neck injuries.

He said that the form four students emerged from a maize plantation near the teachers’ quarters.

Two of the students waylaid him as he headed to an outside pit latrine before the third student emerged and hit him on the head with a blunt object.

The teacher was able to recognize the students even though they were wearing civilian clothes.

The incident was reported at Gitwamba Police Station.
