William Ruto Dismisses extra Positions Proposed In The BBI

Date:

Deputy President William Samoie Ruto has lashed out at the Proposals of the Building Bridges Initiative advocating for extra positions.

While addressing Chuka Residents after attending a church service at the Prebysterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) and St. John Kimuchia in Tharaka Nithi County, the Second in command reiterated his earlier stand that the conversation must cease from discussing positions and focus on the needs of the holloi polloi.

The comments come barely a week after the second launch of the Building Bridges Initiative at the Bomas of Kenya. The event was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. “Listen the people of Chuka, we must agree that as we discuss positions, we must also talk about Guaranteed Minimum Returns for tea, for milk, for sugarcane, for coffee amongst others.” Said William Ruto.

He also dismissed the “Nobody Can Stop Reggae” narrative and swore to stop it if the propellers of the reggae chronicle do not halt it. He added that Kenya is for people that subscribe to God and not such rebellious statements.

The Second in command also called for dialogue on the recently released BBI report to include all views before it is subjected to the referendum. “We want to ask our friends respectfully, in Bomas the President said that we must look for consensus. The former Prime Minister said come let us talk together. Why are you now changing the goalpost?” Asked the Deputy President in response to the leaders who dismissed his dialogue calls.
