Defiant Wambugu Spits Fire After Public Humiliation By Ruto In Nyeri

Date:

Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has responded after he was humiliated in his own constituency during a visit by Deputy President William Ruto .

The defiant MP has now accused Ruto brigade of throwing jabs at him as he stood by as the crowd jeered him.

“If you ever wondered what the spark of resistance looks likes, then you had a front-row seat as the DP and all his minions took on one man, a first-term MP, who kept silent with each insult and whose stance never changed. When they were done they drove off and celebrated their efforts believing they had wounded their foe,” Ngunjiri stated.

However Wambugu laughed off Ruto’s comments during the incident saying the DP had to take over 10 legislators to his constituency to abuse him. Wambugu instead promised Ruto and his brigade a good lesson come 2022.

“It took over 10 MPs and a whole Deputy President to come & attack me in Nyeri – and yet still we stand.Thiîi na mbere kwendia rurîrî irio cîa nda. We will teach all of you a lesson. Keep Well Mheshimiwa Wa Kandara,” said Wambugu.

Wambugu, who is DP Ruto’s fierce opponent, added that the second in command tried to hide his lack of composure by asking him to relax even when he was composed. The MP alleged that his tussle with the DP begun when he started driving the Kieleweke agenda, which he stated was a call to stop early campaigns.

However Wambugu claimed the narrative called for Tanga tang brigade to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta and dismiss claims that central Kenya owed a debt to the DP.

“Could today be the day Mt Kenya starts hardening against the Deputy President?” he posed.

“Just like with Kieleweke, could what Wambugu did today in his peaceful one-man resistance in a mobilized rally by the Deputy President end up being the beginning of similar action across the Mt Kenya region?”

The DP introduced Wambugu, who was part of a crowd on Friday, but was forced to change the topic when the crowd allegedly started jeering Wambugu. Ruto advocated for politics that would bring Kenyans together through the hustler narrative.
