President Kenyatta nominates Ms Nancy Janet Kabui Gathungu for the position of Auditor General.

His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Ms Nancy Janet Kabui Gathungu for the position of Auditor General.

Ms Gathungu was the first among the top three (3) candidates presented to His Excellency the President for nomination by the Recruitment Panel for the Selection of the Auditor General as set out in law.

Consequently, His Excellency the President has forwarded the name of Ms Nancy Janet Kabui Gathungu to the National Assembly for vetting.

This appointment follows the recent news that Mr. Ouko complained that he had been abandoned by the government.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Mr. Ouko revealed that after his retirement from the sensitive office, his security was withdrawn and that he is yet to receive some allowances owed to him and which were due by the time he left office.

“In terms of security it is very difficult to tell you [whether] I’m secure or not,” said Mr Ouko.
