Shock as 17 More People Succumbs To COVID-19

The Ministry Of Health announced on Sunday evening that Seventeen more people succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

The latest announcement now brings the total number of deaths to 1,013 since the pandemic began. The confirmed positive cases also stood at 685 from a sample of 4,433 that were tested.

Out of the confirmed new cases, 26 were foreigners while 659 were Kenyan citizens. The total recoveries in the last 24 hours were 231 people. Mombasa and Nairobi led in the distribution of new cases at 203 and 202 respectively. The other cases were in the counties of Busia at 95, Nakuru at 18, Bungoma at 18, Kiambu at 18, Kisumu at 17, Embu at 17 amongst others.

In Nairobi alone, Westlands leads at 29 cases followed by Lang’ata at 24cases, Embakasi Central at 22, Embakassi East at 18, Kamukunji at 17, Dagoretti South at 15, Kibra at 14, Dagoreti North at 12,Ruaka at 11, Mathare at 10 and Embakasi West at 9 cases amongst many more.

The cases of the COVID-19 Pandemic has continued to skyrocket in Kenya with Citizens not keen on following the precautionary measures such as social distancing. Politicians have gone on a campaign mode to woo votes without being keen on the containment measures proposed by the Ministry of Health.

Kenyans have condemned the Health officials terming them toothless due to their failure to tame politicians from conducting huge rallies. Most citizens have attributed the sudden rise in these numbers to carelessness on the side of the politicians.
