Aden Duale says Kenyatta will back Ruto in 2022 to be the next President

Date:

The former National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale on Sunday evening, October 4 made a bold statement saying that Uhuru will inevitably announce his support for Deputy President, William Ruto come 2022 general elections.

Having a conversation with The Hot Seat’s host, Jacque Maribe, the legislator said that it’s only a matter of time before President Uhuru Kenyatta throws his whole weight behind his Deputy President.

“When the time comes, President Uhuru will support William Ruto. Our history with him (Uhuru) cannot be erased in a minute, in 3 months or in 2 to 3 years,” he disclosed.

The Garissa Member of Parliament disclosed that he is a part of the close-circle team consisting of leaders that has one sole intention, to make sure the Deputy President becomes the President in 2022.

“My candidate for 2022 is William Ruto. I will use whatever it takes to campaign for him,” he asserted.

Regarding possible alliances, he maintained that the 2022 race to State House only involved two horses, terming the other contenders as ‘donkey’, jokingly.

“Unless the rest of the candidates join our coalition, they should not even bother looking for me,” he remarked.

In his bid to ensure his close ally succeeded the Jubilee Party leader in 2020, Duale revealed that he had a checklist.

The first priority on the checklist would be to focus on garnering the highest number of seats in the Senate and National Assembly.

The second item on his list was shrouded in mystery, “I have a hidden card for Garissa County, both for who becomes the governor, senator, woman rep, and the 6 constituency seats. I will disclose this particular card after the elections,” he stated.

He further warned leaders from his county that he had unfinished business with them for having failed the county residents.

“In my community, we say, whoever brings the jiin should be the same one to get rid of it. I have unfinished business there,” he disclosed.
