Wilson Wins Regional Airport of the Year Award

Wilson Airport in Nairobi emerged as the best regional airport of the year at Aviators Africa Tower Awards.

It emerged the best after beating Kimberly Airport in South Africa, Kumasi Airport in Ghana, and Uyo Airport in Nigeria, in the Brand category.

Organized by Aviators Africa, the Tower Awards celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements and sustainability within the African Aviation sector.

“Our esteemed Regional Airport Manager, overseeing Wilson and Northern Region Airports, Joseph Okumu proudly presented the award trophy to KAA Ag. MD, Henry Ogoye, ” KAA wrote.

” The Award ceremony took place on 29th September 2023, coinciding with the African Aviation Sustainability Conference (AASC) in Johannesburg, South Africa, ” the aviation authority added.

Winning the award signified steps made by the government and other stakeholders to improve the country’s aviation sector.

The government already revealed plans to expand the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

JKIA expansion is set to serve a regional transit hub.

Additionally a number of airlines have started launching different flights into the country.

Kenya Airways on the other hand increased flights to various destinations including London , United Arabs Emirates and to the US.
