Kenyan deputy President William Samoei Ruto has this evening sent his congratulatory messages to the American President Elect Joe Biden.
Ruto sent his message through his Facebook and Twitter pages. He praised the two for making a history by offering a woman candidate to deputize Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Kamala Harris becomes the first woman vice president to be elected in the whole of the American history.
The deputy President said that the win of Biden and Harris confirms that democracy works and it puts faith in the supremacy of the people.
William Ruto’s congratulations come following many frustrations that have bedeviled him on his 2022 attempt at the presidency. Ruto had hoped to be backed by President Uhuru Kenyatta having supported the president in 2013 and 2017.
However, Deputy President’s presidential ambitions started to narrow down in the wake of the famous handshake between President Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
His hustler narrative campaign tag has put him at loggerheads with various leaders in the country. Some of the leaders include the COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli who has severally termed that hustler tag as conmanship. Opposition leader Raila Odinga has also dismissed that narrative on the basis that Ruto is not a hustler.
