President William Samoei Ruto on Sunday left the country to the United Kingdom to pay his last respect to the fallen Queen Elizabeth the second.
Contrary to the many claims that William Ruto will attend the burial proceedings of the late Queen, it is now evident that he won’t be allowed to attend the actual burial ceremony that will be taking place at the St. George’s Chapel.
Instead, the president of Kenya just like many other leaders around the world will only attend the funeral service of Queen Elizabeth which will happen at Westminster Abbey.
It is reported that heads of states and other leaders around the world will not witness the real burial because the Royal family wants to make the event a private affair.
The queen of England’s body is scheduled to be buried tomorrow Monday. She died peacefully aged 96 years – possibly the longest serving leader in present-day history.
On his United Kingdom trip, Ruto is expected to meet the newly-crowned king of England, King Charles the 3rd, where the two leaders will have dinner together. Bilateral trade ties involving the two countries, and trade agreements, are also expected to feature prominently in the discussions.
From the United Kingdom, the Kenyan head of state will fly straight to the United States of America for another official meeting with different leaders, including a meeting with America’s President, Joe Biden. The meeting between the two leaders is expected to focus more on commerce and business since there will be officials from the American Chamber of Commerce.
Ruto is then expected to fly back into the country on the 22nd of Thursday where he will be expected to name his cabinet members to officially commence service delivery to Kenyans.
