Why Nuru Okanga Opted To Join A Day School

Date:

Raila Odinga’s diehard fan Nuru Okanga has allegedly joined high school for his secondary education.

The politician, who was captured in a school uniform, claimed that he has joined a day school for various reasons.

“I have decided to join a day school because I have to continue with my family responsibilities. I have to ensure my family is [okay]. I will also be going to ‘Bunge La Mwananchi’ for politicking so that when times comes for lessons about Kenya’s history I take over,” he told Swift Media.

Okanga was however reluctant to reveal the name of the school he joined saying that President William Ruto and Education CS Ezekiel Machogu might go after him if they find out.

“My supporters should just know that I am in school. I can’t mention the school’s name because I have issues with Ruto and the Education guy, so they should just know that I am in school. I am going to focus with my education. The principal has asked me to maintain a low profile. My supporters should understand I have joined and I am a student,” he said.

The 32-year old had previously hoped to join Alliance High School. He scored 320 marks in KCPE.

Okanga’s allegation of proceeding with his secondary education come at a time when CS Machogu said that over age students, who sat for KCPE exams in 2023 will not be able to join Highschool like other learners.

He however said that they will be placed in adult learning institutions across the country.

“I wish to announce that all the eligible 2023 KCPE Examination candidates have been placed in our public secondary schools. However, all over-age learners have been forwarded to the Directorate of Adult and Continuing Education for placement in Adult and Continuing Education institutions,” said Machogu, while releasing KCPE 2023 results at Lenana School in December last year.
