Kenyan Canadian based lawyer and activist Miguna Miguna has announced that he will be in Kenya on October 25.
Miguna shared his travel timeline with his followers saying that he will be leaving Toronto, Canada on October 24, which is slightly a month from now.
“HOMECOMING ITINERARY: After nearly 5 years of forced BARBARIC EXILE, I’m returning home. Departing from Toronto: October 24, 2022. Arrival at JKIA, Nairobi: October 25, 2022 at 8:20 PM. See you, everyone,” the lawyer revealed.
A number of his followers wondered why he chose to arrive in Kenya at night yet they would love to welcome him at the airport. Some suggested that he changes his flight time so that he can arrive in Kenya in the morning.
“General you can’t touch down at night. Make it 8:20AM. Patriots want to be there!!” a follower told him.
Responding to that, Miguna explained why his flight was fixed at night saying that he is not in control of international flights nor does he own a plane.
“I don’t own a plane. I don’t control international flights,” Miguna responded.
He however said that he will see if he can change his flight timeline although it might cost him more.
“Wow, fellow Kenyans. I’ll see if I can change my arrival time to morning. I didn’t realize it was going to be such a huge issue. But because hundreds of you have made it an issue, I’ll try and accommodate you. Except that you won’t pay for the change of my flight details,” he added.
Miguna was forcefully deported from Kenya in February 2018, a week after overseeing the swearing in of Raila Odinga as the people’s president on January 30, 2018 at Uhuru Park. A month after the dramatic scene at JKIA, Raila and former president Uhuru Kenyatta set aside their differences in what is known as the popular handshake.
