Kenyans are one group that is tough to please. On Monday 6 July President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted some of the measures placed to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Expecting all Kenyans to be happy of the step the President took to uplift the recession of movement between some counties that would be a story of another day. Kenyans have however liked and hated the idea in equal measures.
During his national address, the President said should the situation deteriorate and pose a challenge to the country’s health infrastructure, then the phased reopening of the country will be reviewed.
The decision by the President did not, however, sit well with some Kenyans who claimed that the reopening of the country was a reckless move.
On of the Kenyans who thought the move by President Uhuru was reckless is Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kichumba Murkomen. Taking to his twitter account, Murkomen said:Â “Cessation of Movement in and out of Nairobi and Mombasa is a BIG MISTAKE,” he tweeted.

“By reopening Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera, we are more at risk than we were when the restrictions were in place,” he said.
The President added that the order will only bear fruits if Kneyand exercise shared responsibility
“I intend to reopen and to remain open. The ‘clawback’ option is not on my wish list at all,” President Uhuru added.
