A video of a middle aged man snatching two mobile phones at Kisumu’s City Food Court has drawn mixed reactions from a number of Kenyans.
From the CCTV video, a young man was at the hotel but he went outside in what was seen as a move to plan how he would escape after completing his mission. While outside, he talked to some motorbike guy for some time before he came back to the facility.
To confuse the eaters at the Kisumu City Food Court, the young man masqueraded as if though he was talking on phone as he moved nearby. Little did the foreigners know that the thief was timing them. He landed on the two phones like a hawk and took off.
Attempts by the two victims to chase the young man and save their phones proved futile as the white woman fell on the door, giving more room for the thief to escape with ease.
It is not clear whether he escaped on foot or whether he took the motorbike that was standing by the door.
The incident at the City Food court comes just months after a similar incident happened at the Jubilee Steel Shop in Kisumu involving two armed amateur robbers.
From the CCTV seen by Sonko News, one of the robbers drew an AK 47 gun as the other one jumped on the table like a superman with silly threats.
The robber was chanting “give me all the money,” as the other shop occupants at the Jubilee Steel shop scampered for safety under the tables and chairs
However, the robbers messed up on their mission since one hostage managed to run out of the premise as fast as his thin mosquito legs could carry him.
Feeling terrified, the chants “give me all the money” only remained empty threats with no one within the shop willing to give in to those empty orders.
