Ukraine President Lifts Visa Requirements For Kenyans Who Wish To Go And Fight Russian Forces

Date:

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has lifted visa requirements for all foreigners who wish to fight against Russia as they continue with their sustained attack in the country.

According to a statement on the Ukraine president’s website, they welcomed anyone from any part of the world in one condition that they are willing to put their lives at the front to deal with Russians.

“Anyone who wants to join the defense of Ukraine, Europe, and the world can come and fight side by side with the Ukrainians against the Russian war criminals,” read part of the statement.

The statement added that anyone who wishes to volunteer for Ukraine should carry their own protective equipment such as body armor, helmet amongst others.

”An application to join the legion asks prospective volunteers to detail their military experience and recommends that they bring their own personal protection, including a helmet and body armor.”

The decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky according to wionews  takes effect Tuesday and will remain in effect as long as martial law is in place.

On their side, Kenyans took the offer and vowed to go to Ukraine and fight  tooth and nail until the Russian forces run away from the country.

“I think this is a good opportunity to go abroad. If fighting Russian forces will make me go to Ukraine then i am ready as soon as yesterday. I hope they have lifted the requirements such as the fee and will also pay my air ticket.” Said one Kenyan.

Another Kenyan added: “They should first pay me money so that I impregnate 20 women before I leave this country because am not sure whether i will be back or not. I am sure with the millions, i will have many ladies carrying my kids before I leave for Ukraine. My Mpesa line is 070587**** just send me the visa and air ticket money.”

This decree comes just a day after Ukraine vowed not to surrender to Russian president Mr. Putin amidst talks between delegates from both countries following days of clashes across Ukraine.

“Ukraine is ready to continue seeking a diplomatic solution, but Ukraine is not ready to surrender or capitulate,” Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble on Monday.

The comments came as Ukrainian and Russian officials held talks in Belarus, which neighbors the two countries, aimed at de-escalating hostilities following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Going into the discussions, Ukraine said it wanted an immediate cease-fire and the withdrawal of Russian forces, which have attacked various cities and areas of northern, eastern and southern Ukraine. Meanwhile, troops have been approaching the capital Kyiv from the north.

Kuleba said he did not know whether the talks were still ongoing and was unconvinced they would be successful.

“I’m a diplomat, I have to believe in the success of talks, but at the same time my main goal as a diplomat now is to impose more sanctions on Russia, to bring more weapons to Ukraine and to isolate Russia as much as we can in the international arena so I’m focused on this part of diplomacy,” he said

“We stand not only for ourselves but for the world order as we all know it,” he added

Since invading Ukraine almost a week ago, Russia has not been successful in their motive to capture Ukrainian cities after running into unexpectedly fierce resistance, which has caused the death of 352 civilians, including 14 children.

Sonko News has further learnt from this source that Western nations are concerned that Russian commanders could now unleash the tactics they employed in Syria and Chechnya in recent decades, when they pulverized civilian areas, killing thousands, as they sent in their tanks.

Further, most people estimated at half a million have fled Ukraine since the invasion began with the majority of them going to Poland. Others have been going to Hungary and Romania to seek refugee.

So serious has this war been that the Hague based international criminal court through chief prosecutor Karim Khan declared that the “situation in Ukraine”, is a “reasonable basis” to believe “war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed” since 2014.
